With the presentation of lists by party officials took place before last Saturday (12:00 am) has officially started the countdown to elections in our region which will see opposing 4 Presidential Candidate:
Nichi Vendola * outgoing president and a candidate the center-left (pd-IDV-green-sel-la puglia x Vendola Lista Pannella-Bonino) ;
Rocco Palese * candidate of the center-right (pdl puglia-first-i-Puglia-UDEUR adc, pli, dc-hunting and the environment)
Adriana Poli Bortone * centrist candidate (udc-south I-mpa )
Michele Rizzi * communist alternative candidate.
Citizens of Puglia go to the polls on Sunday 28 (08.00 to 22.00) and Monday, March 29 (from 07.00 to 15.00) to elect the president of the regional directors and 70. The President of the region is directly elected by the majority system: the most votes wins and there are no ballots.
The Regional Council is elected by a proportional system, plus a share of seats as "majority bonus".
The seats in the Council are 70: one goes to the president, a defeated candidate with the most votes, 13 are allocated as majority prize (to be divided in proportion to the votes received from linked lists to the winner), 55 are directly at stake.
